Electronics for telecommunications

NOTICE

Lectures at this course will be from school year 2022/23 carried out under the Chair of Electronics and Laboratory for integrated circuits design.

Course deepen the understanding of the realisation of acquisition, processing and transmission of signals. It provides main guidelines for understanding the operation of analog and digital electronic circuits, which are used as building blocks for the realisation of telecommunications and multimedia systems. It brings acquaintance with the situation in the field of communications circuits with an emphasis on technological feasibility, economic viability and technological trends.

Main content

  • Analog building blocks of electronic communications circuits, analog circuits manufacturing technology.
  • Digital electronic communications circuits: dedicated processors, programmable architecture, peripherals, manufacturing technology of digital circuits.
  • The building blocks of high-frequency communication systems: capturing and signal processing.
  • Consumer electronics and embedded systems: optimization of power consumption, life span of the product optimization and sub-level of integration and the impact on circuit properties and the price of the product.
  • Telecommunication systems: architecture, communication systems, hardware and software architectures and use cases signal processors, communications processors, network processors and packet processors.
  • Multimedia systems: multimedia systems architecture, hardware and software, the realization of digital signal processing algorithms.
